I can barely believe the time has finally arrived for Star Syringe to celebrate the production of ONE BILLION syringes.  Although this particular syringe will not be any more special than any other K1 made in our many licensed locations, hitting this milestone, is cause for reflection and celebration!

Reflecting on the journey I, and the team at Star, have taken over the years can only make us proud that we kept going to get to this critical stage!  There have been too many set backs to remember now, but also a steady recognition, acceptance and ground swell of demand for Auto-Disable syringes especially in developing world countries.  At times we have all felt that we were going backwards faster than forwards!  But  recently we have doubled sales from year to year proving that we are making our mark.

Celebrating this achievement is of course fun and makes us all feel good.  But in a very deep felt way, the fact that this many safe injections has likely saved over 5 million lives or so, underpins why we as a team have 'kept the faith' and persisted.  I can honestly say that although we do not think about the aspect of saving lives all the time at work, it is a very important underlying driver for us all.

In the last six years, we have achieved getting 10 syringe factories licensed and producing K1 Auto-Disable syringes, have made One Billion units, which have been used successfully, and delivering this many safe injections has spared over 5 million fatal viral transmissions.
